A Different Deliverance

“Then David said, ‘Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul?’ And the Lord said, ‘They will deliver you.’ So David and his men, about six hundred, arose and departed…And David stayed in strongholds in the wilderness, and remained.” -1 Samuel 23:12-14

Sometimes our deliverance comes in the wilderness, but the great thing is, God turns the wilderness into a stronghold! It usually goes against what we want the outcome to be. Like David, we’re finding our deliverance, not in the palace, but on the run.

Everything is barren, except for what God is doing in our hearts. That’s why He’s brought us here, we are not yet ready for the throne. He’s changing our character to prepare us for the blessings He’s getting ready to do in our lives. He’s preparing us for a new season, a season where we, like David, will be on the throne.
